Job description
Primary Purpose of the Job
This role is responsible for developing and executing the funding strategy, managing interest rate risks, and overseeing non-trading foreign exchange exposures for QatarEnergy Trading. The position involves providing expert treasury advice to internal stakeholders and supporting the Trading team in mitigating trading-related forex risks. Key duties include managing communications with internal departments and external financial institutions, coordinating short-term liquidity with the Group Treasury Middle Office, and overseeing Trading Back Office Operations, including reporting, accounting, and ensuring secure payments and settlements for Group Treasury financings. The Head of Treasury Trading will also serve as the main point of contact for Internal Audit, External Audit, and State Bureau Audit.
Required Experience and Skills
A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience is required, preferably within trading houses, with substantial exposure to LNG trading, trade finance, and corporate finance. Prior experience in a similar role within the oil and gas (LNG) sector or financial institutions would be beneficial. Proficiency in computerized business systems is essential, including MS Office, treasury middleware, Bloomberg, and advanced ERP systems like SAP Treasury Risk Module (TRM) or equivalent. Strong leadership, people management, and coaching abilities are also necessary.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business. Alternatively, globally recognized professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or Cost & Management Accountant are acceptable.
