Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for overseeing contract negotiation and contract administration across the LNG trading function, including re-gasification activities. The role requires close attention to commercial detail, legal compliance, and alignment with business goals to help enable smooth LNG transactions and reduce contractual exposure.
Key responsibilities
The role leads a team of contract specialists and ensures that agreements are structured effectively, reviewed carefully, and managed in line with company requirements. A major part of the job is supporting trading activity through sound commercial judgment, strong negotiation outcomes, and disciplined contract governance.
Experience and capability requirements
- Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in LNG trading.
- Substantial background in contract negotiation and contract management within LNG or energy trading.
- Hands-on exposure to multiple trading agreements, including re-gasification contracts.
- Strong understanding of the LNG value chain, energy market dynamics, strategic planning, stakeholder relationship management, and negotiation.
- Solid working knowledge of contract law, international trade rules, and sector-specific contractual terms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage people effectively.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
Education
A bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or a related discipline is required. A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA, MSc, or PhD is considered an added advantage.
