Job description
About the company
Bending Spoons aims to build a company of exceptional scale and quality: one that serves many customers, helps its people reach their full potential, operates with very high effectiveness and efficiency, and creates outstanding value for shareholders while maintaining strong ethical standards. The business acquires digital products to own and run them over the long term, making substantial improvements that accelerate innovation, improve customer outcomes, and strengthen performance. Teams are intentionally small, highly capable, and low on hierarchy, and the company blends startup-style speed with the stability of established products. AI is embedded throughout the way work gets done so that human judgment and machine intelligence complement each other.
Role overview
This role is designed for a talented, motivated, and collaborative graduate who wants to learn quickly, have a meaningful impact, and advance rapidly. You will help create AI-enabled product experiences, improve the development workflow through AI tools, and contribute to software that reaches millions of users.
What you will do
- Partner with product teams to spot opportunities where AI can significantly improve the user experience and turn those ideas into production-ready solutions.
- Use advanced AI tools within your day-to-day development process, including design, implementation, testing, and documentation, while keeping quality, reliability, and maintainability high.
- Work across varied technical environments with end-to-end ownership, selecting appropriate technologies based on the problem rather than on trends.
- Take responsibility for software from concept through deployment, building systems used at large scale and continuously improving them.
- Remove unnecessary complexity from architectures, delivery pipelines, and codebases to make systems easier to scale and maintain.
What the company is looking for
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to break down difficult problems from first principles and focus on what truly matters.
- High drive, ambition, and persistence, paired with a strong sense of ownership and consistently high personal standards.
- Genuine team orientation, including willingness to support others, follow the best idea, and work transparently and reliably.
- Confident English communication skills, both written and spoken.
What is offered
- Small, highly capable teams made up of entrepreneurial and result-oriented colleagues.
- Strong growth potential, with the chance to take on important responsibilities early in your career.
- Competitive compensation plus access to company equity. For candidates with limited experience, the usual annual pay is £85,797 in London or €66,065 elsewhere in Europe. For candidates assessed as having substantial relevant experience, the usual range is £112,189 to £250,512 in London or €107,837 to £188,848 elsewhere in Europe. Pay is adjusted based on location and expected impact, and can rise quickly with experience and contribution. Exceptional candidates may be offered compensation above these ranges.
- For permanent contracts, part of your compensation may be taken in company equity at a discounted price.
- If you relocate to Italy, you may qualify for a 50% tax reduction.
- A broad benefits package including flexible working hours, remote work, unlimited learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, a generous relocation package, strong parental support, and an annual retreat to a scenic destination.
- A flexible start date and the option to begin part-time before moving into full-time as you finish your degree.
Commitment and contract
This is a permanent or fixed-term full-time opportunity.
Location
Milan, London, Madrid, Warsaw, or remote from selected countries.
Selection process
The hiring process focuses on verifiable evidence of excellence rather than seniority or resume polish. Everyone is assessed through the same process, and there are no special tracks based on background.
If you believe you can grow into the role over time, you should not rule yourself out simply because your experience is limited or your CV is not perfect.
Applications are reviewed through the company’s careers process. Candidates who pass the initial review may be asked to complete one or more difficult tests that can take several hours and may involve unfamiliar problems.
The company may keep a role open for a long time or repost it if the right candidate has not yet been found.
Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities.
Before you apply
If you have applied before and were not offered the role, you are advised to wait at least one year before applying again.
This is a demanding workplace with very high expectations. It can lead to exceptional learning, achievement, and career growth, but it also requires substantial commitment.
To help new hires ramp up effectively, the company recommends spending the first few months working from the Milan office, regardless of the long-term arrangement. Travel and accommodation support is provided for this period. After that, work may be done from the Milan or London offices, or remotely from approved countries, depending on what is agreed at the offer stage.
Additional information
The company welcomes applicants who are excited by the role and ready to give their best effort.
