Job description

Role Overview

Wessuc Inc. is seeking a hands-on General Labourer to join its Cleanout Specialist team in Brantford, Ontario. In this role, you will support vacuum truck operations at wastewater facilities and similar sites, helping deliver safe and efficient cleanout services.

About the Company

Wessuc is a family-owned organization that puts people first and works toward cleaner water, healthier soil, and more sustainable communities. Its culture is built around responsibility, respect, balance, and joy, and the company is focused on safety, innovation, and turning waste into value across municipal, industrial, and agricultural wastewater infrastructure and processes.

Key Duties

  • Help prepare worksites by setting up vacuum hoses, pumps, and safety gear.
  • Carry out cleaning work in confined areas such as wastewater holding tanks, pump stations, and other treatment or processing tanks.
  • Assist with paperwork and records, including Confined Space Entry Permits, Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports, and other required forms.
  • Operate company pickup trucks and safety trailers to reach job sites throughout Ontario, including overnight or out-of-town work with paid lodging.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy, and organized worksite.
  • Work in restricted spaces and in dusty, wet, or noisy environments.
  • Be available for longer shifts during peak season, participate in on-call emergency response coverage, and adapt to changing schedules, including night work.
  • Work year-round in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, and comfortable with physical work. A valid G or G2 licence with a clean driving record is required. The role also calls for the ability to handle minor mechanical repairs. Experience in working at heights, confined space entry and rescue, or the wastewater sector is considered an advantage, as is familiarity with hydraulic pumps, water pumps, and related equipment.

Working Conditions and Schedule

This is a full-time, year-round position with 50 to 60 hours of work per week. Extended shifts may be required during the busy season, and the role includes night shifts and an on-call rotation for emergencies. Work takes place on-site and may involve travel across Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

Pay starts at $22 per hour, with the potential to earn $60,000 to $80,000 annually when shift premiums and overtime are included. Overtime is paid after 44 hours each week. Additional benefits include comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life coverage, a company-matched RRSP-DPSP plan, paid on-the-job training, a $150 boot allowance after one year of service, per diem, paid accommodation for out-of-town assignments, and a supportive team-based environment.
