Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is for a flexible back-up nanny who can support multiple families with in-home childcare. The role is suited to people with babysitting, daycare, nannying, nursery volunteering, or teaching experience who want a smaller setting and a schedule that can work around school, family, or another job.
What you'll do
- Provide in-home care for children without driving them anywhere.
- Keep the child’s activity area tidy in a practical way after meals or play, with no other household chores expected.
- Care for children from infancy through toddler age, with the greatest need for children under 2 years old.
- Support children through safe, hands-on activities that fit their age and developmental stage.
Compensation and benefits
- Pay is $22 to $25 per hour.
- Paid training is provided, along with a nanny kit containing age-appropriate games and activities.
- There are growth opportunities in childcare, including a first opportunity to be matched with families looking for a single regular nanny on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Paid sick time is available for both part-time and full-time schedules.
- Full-time employment may include a medical stipend, paid vacation, paid holidays, student loan repayment matching funds, or retirement savings matching funds.
- There may also be mileage support, performance-based bonuses, and team contests or meetups for connection and support.
- This is W-2 employment with unemployment insurance and the ability to strengthen your resume.
What we're looking for
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Prior experience with children is required, whether paid or unpaid.
- Infant care experience is mandatory.
- You need reliable transportation and the ability to travel to homes throughout the area.
- You must be available for at least 3 weekdays per week, with 6 to 8 hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
- You should be communicative, responsive to the staffing supervisor, and bring a positive attitude to each family.
Additional information
This role is designed for candidates who want flexible on-call work supporting different households. The work focuses on childcare only and does not include transportation or full household duties beyond reasonable clean-up related to the child’s activities and meals.
