Jovie is looking for flexible backup nannies to support families in their homes. This role is suited to people who enjoy working with children, can adapt to different households, and want a schedule that can fit around classes, family responsibilities, or another job.
What you’ll do
- Provide in-home care for children without driving them anywhere.
- Handle only simple tidying related to activities or meals you do with the child.
- Support families with children from infancy through toddler age, with the strongest need for children under 2 years old.
- Keep children safe and engaged through hands-on, age-appropriate activities based on their developmental stage.
What Jovie provides
- Hourly pay of $22 to $25.
- Paid training plus a nanny kit with age-appropriate games and activities for assignments.
- Pathways to grow in childcare, including priority consideration for families seeking one regular nanny for full-time or part-time work.
- Paid sick time for both part-time and full-time schedules.
- For full-time roles, benefits may include a medical stipend, paid vacation, paid holidays, student loan repayment matching, or retirement savings matching.
- Additional possible perks include mileage stipends, bonuses for strong feedback, contests, and social meetups for connection and support.
- Legal W-2 employment with unemployment insurance and resume-building work experience.
Who should apply
- People aged 18 or older.
- Applicants with experience caring for children, whether paid or unpaid; infant experience is required.
- Those with dependable transportation.
- Candidates willing to travel to different homes in the local area.
- Applicants available for at least 3 weekdays per week, for 6 to 8 hour shifts between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
- Individuals who can stay communicative and responsive with the staffing supervisor and bring a positive, welcoming attitude to each family.
Additional information
This role is described as engaging, creative, fun, and flexible. The job mentions working with multiple families as part of an on-call team. There are no household duties beyond common-sense cleanup connected to your time with the child. The posting also notes that experience as a babysitter, daycare worker, nanny, church nursery volunteer, or retired teacher/teaching professional may be relevant.
