Job description

Position Overview

The Food Services Supervisor for Banquets will lead the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while ensuring smooth operation of banquet services. This role requires overseeing staff performance, maintaining service standards, and ensuring all operational tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team efforts to provide optimal service and ensure guests’ requirements are fulfilled.
  • Monitor staff grooming and uniforms, addressing any deviations promptly.
  • Manage opening and closing activities including preparing supplies, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing premises.
  • Inspect storage locations to maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper inventory rotation (FIFO).
  • Execute stocktaking activities and requisition necessary materials.
  • Oversee dining area availability, service quality, guest safety, and wellbeing.
  • Submit maintenance requests for any needed repairs.
  • Support management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
  • Act as a role model and primary contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
  • Adhere to company policies concerning safety, security, and confidentiality; report incidents and unsafe conditions; complete required safety trainings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and safeguard company assets and proprietary information.
  • Warmly welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
  • Foster positive team relationships to achieve shared goals and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards; propose and implement improvements to increase efficiency, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform visual inspections of documents, equipment, and service areas.
  • Engage in physical activities including standing, walking, lifting items up to 50 pounds, maneuvering in confined spaces, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs or ramps.
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Educational background of high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in food service operations.
  • At least one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
