About the Role
Our client is a prominent Irish accountancy and advisory firm known for delivering exceptional client service and expert financial guidance to businesses focused on growth. They are experiencing ongoing expansion and seek to appoint a Financial Controller who will lead the finance team across multiple sites. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the appointed individual will oversee daily financial activities and play a key leadership role in shaping the finance function while providing strategic financial insight to stakeholders. This position includes supporting the integration of future acquisitions as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all finance operations, including management accounts, cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, taxation, and payroll.
- Compile monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to aid strategic decisions and business performance monitoring.
- Ensure statutory compliance by managing tax filings, audited financial statements, and coordinating the annual external audit process.
- Drive continuous enhancements in finance processes, systems, and controls while mentoring and developing the finance team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic projects such as acquisitions, integrations, due diligence, banking relations, and business expansion initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent designation and at least 8 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience working in professional services environments, such as accounting firms, legal practices, or other partner-driven organisations.
- Excellent leadership qualities, communication skills, and stakeholder management capability with strong influencing and collaboration skills.
- Highly proactive, motivated, and flexible, able to thrive in fast-paced, multifaceted professional settings.
- Proven history of delivering accurate, high-quality financial reporting and analysis, alongside robust technical, systems, organizational, and team leadership skills.
