Financial Analyst

Role overview

Veritas Recruitment is hiring a driven Financial Analyst to join an aftersales team in Mulgrave, Victoria on a contract basis. This position is suited to someone with about 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis or commercial finance who wants to build a career in a commercial environment supporting important business decisions for a premium automotive brand.

What you will do

• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term planning cycles
• Create and update Power BI dashboards and management reports
• Prepare recurring reporting on sales, revenue, and margin outcomes
• Track financial results and call out meaningful variances
• Support pricing analysis and monitoring of commercial performance
• Work across several data sources to extract insights and strengthen reporting
• Assist with business case preparation and financial evaluation of initiatives
• Help improve reporting workflows, automation, and data integrity

About you

You should be an inquisitive, proactive finance professional who enjoys working with data and translating figures into practical insights. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work with senior stakeholders in a setting that combines finance, analysis, and strategy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting in a consumer products-focused business
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, or a strong willingness and interest to use it, is essential
• Advanced Excel capability and some exposure to financial modelling
• Strong analytical ability with a high level of accuracy and detail orientation
• Working knowledge of reporting, variance analysis, and tracking financial performance
• Exposure to pricing, automotive, or consumer products industries is helpful but not mandatory
• A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Finance, or a related field
