About the Role

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a skilled Finance Specialist for a remote contract position. This role involves providing expert financial insights and analysis across various domains including investment banking, risk management, portfolio management, and corporate financial strategy. The specialist will be responsible for developing and evaluating detailed financial valuation models, contributing knowledge on regulatory compliance, and delivering clear feedback on financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Offer expert insight and analysis across finance domains such as investment banking, risk management, portfolio management, and corporate financial strategy.
• Evaluate and develop detailed financial valuation models, primarily in xlsx formats, to support various investment theses and scenarios.
• Contribute in-depth knowledge on regulatory compliance tracking and evolving industry standards.
• Deliver high-quality, structured written and verbal feedback on financial workflows, datasets, and methodologies.
• Present complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and precision in communication.
• Collaborate with other finance experts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and depth across all project deliverables.

Requirements

• Possess at least 5 years of practical experience in finance roles, such as Investment Banking Analyst, Corporate Risk Manager, Portfolio/Asset Manager, or Financial Manager.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in constructing and auditing financial valuation models, particularly using xlsx.
• Have a proven history of producing clear, articulate written reports, memos, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Show demonstrated expertise in tracking and interpreting regulatory compliance changes and their impacts.
• Exhibit excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, which are crucial for this project.

Additional Information

This is a contract position with a commitment of 10-40 hours per week. The role is fully remote within Canada.
