Job description

Job Summary

The Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations and keeping the company’s accounting, reporting, payroll, tax, and remittance activities accurate and compliant. The role calls for a strong grounding in accounting standards, UAE regulations, and financial controls.

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare and review financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports in line with IFRS.
  • Maintain compliance with UAE financial rules, including VAT obligations set by the Federal Tax Authority.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and keep track of cash movement and liquidity.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable so that collections and supplier payments are handled on time.
  • Compile and file VAT returns while staying aligned with UAE tax requirements.

Payroll Processing

  • Run payroll in accordance with UAE Labour Law and the Wage Protection System (WPS).
  • Work out salaries, overtime, deductions, and end-of-service benefits accurately.
  • Ensure payroll records are correct and employee salaries are paid on schedule.

Financial Analysis

  • Study financial data to spot patterns and evaluate business performance.
  • Prepare management reports and presentation material on financial results.
  • Share practical financial guidance and recommendations with leadership.

Foreign Remittance Management

  • Handle international remittance transactions, including currency exchange-related processing and regulatory checks.
  • Ensure all foreign transfers are completed accurately and within required timelines.

Data Entry and Record Keeping

  • Keep financial records current, complete, and well-organized.
  • Enter transactions and other finance data into accounting systems.
  • Maintain supporting files and documentation for accounting and audit purposes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • CPA qualification or an ACCA pathway is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and standard finance practices.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Zoho, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
