Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic financial leader experienced in cost management and process transformation to take charge as a Finance Manager at a manufacturing plant. This role will oversee comprehensive financial and accounting operations, including budget administration, tax adherence, financial risk oversight, and instilling stringent cost control measures throughout business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end accounting processes including General Ledger management, cost accounting, and monthly closures, ensuring complete accuracy of financial data.
- Develop, refine, and uphold financial systems and internal controls compliant with both the corporate group's standards and New Zealand legislation.
- Guarantee compliance with New Zealand tax requirements, manage cash flow diligently, and supervise bank reconciliations.
- Lead the annual budgeting cycle and deliver analytical reports on budget variances to support leadership decisions.
- Collaborate closely with production and sales units to promote cost-saving initiatives and continuously improve cost management frameworks.
- Maintain productive working relationships with external auditors (notably Deloitte), banking institutions (such as BOC, ICBC, Citi, HSBC), and applicable regulatory bodies.
- Drive financial digitalization efforts by introducing and managing IT solutions like SAP or U9 to enhance automation and reduce manual tasks.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- 5 to 7+ years of advancing finance experience, with at least 2 years working within New Zealand.
- Significant knowledge and experience within large-scale manufacturing environments, preferably FMCG, food, or dairy sectors.
- Expertise in cost accounting and cost reduction strategies, especially proficient with Cost Modules.
- Familiarity with finance-related software such as Express, U9, or SAP, including leadership experience in system implementations.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and recognized professional accounting certifications.
Languages and Interpersonal Skills
- Proficiency in English is essential; fluency in Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong decision-making capacity, excellent communication skills, high accountability, and resilience under pressure.
- A forward-thinking approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing technical or digital improvements.
