Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Kampala for a Field Sales Representative. The role involves meeting prospective and current clients in person, introducing Thinkx Software’s products and services, and uncovering business challenges that can be addressed with technology solutions. You will plan and attend sales meetings, conduct product presentations, create proposals and quotations, and support contract discussions in line with company policies. You will also maintain follow-up activity with leads, manage the sales funnel, and work toward assigned sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit new and existing clients to promote the company’s offerings and understand their needs.
- Arrange and participate in sales meetings with prospects and customer contacts.
- Deliver clear product demonstrations and solution presentations.
- Draft proposals and quotations for potential business opportunities.
- Support negotiation of commercial terms while staying within company guidelines.
- Keep in regular contact with leads and move opportunities through the pipeline.
- Work to achieve or surpass sales targets set for the role.
- Collect information on market trends and competitor activity.
- Represent the company at industry events and client workshops when needed.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure solutions are positioned accurately.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant should have prior experience in field sales, business development, or account management, preferably in software, technology, or a similar service-based environment. Strong communication skills, a confident presentation style, and the ability to build trusted relationships with different stakeholders are important. The role also calls for sound negotiation ability, closing skills, and experience handling objections while meeting sales goals. Candidates should understand basic technology and software concepts and be able to connect client needs with suitable solutions. Good organization, time management, territory planning, reporting discipline, and CRM usage are also expected.
Additional Requirements
Applicants should be comfortable working in the field and making frequent client visits across Kampala and nearby areas. The role suits someone who is self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent practical experience is also acceptable. Familiarity with Kampala’s business environment and existing contacts in relevant industries will be an added advantage.
