Role overview
The Field Collections Officer is responsible for meeting customers in person to recover overdue payments and support timely debt collection. The position calls for strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive financial conversations with discretion.
Key responsibilities
- Visit customers to follow up on overdue accounts and arrange suitable repayment plans.
- Keep detailed and accurate logs of collection activity and all customer interactions.
- Review a customer’s financial circumstances and recommend appropriate next steps.
- Carry out collection work in line with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Collection Manager on progress, risks, and issues.
- Respond to customer questions and handle disagreements in a professional way.
- Work closely with internal colleagues to strengthen collection methods and workflows.
