Job description
About the Programme
Farming Partners has introduced the Farm Manager Accelerator Programme, an immersive and structured development scheme crafted to equip motivated individuals with the skills for leadership within grass-based dairy farming. As the company grows, this initiative highlights their dedication to developing both people and sustainable, profitable farm enterprises.
Programme Overview
This 24-month programme welcomes recent graduates or experienced grassland farmers who have a strong passion for agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, or related fields. Participants gain hands-on experience across various Farming Partners operations, assuming real responsibilities from the beginning while receiving customized training and mentorship.
Learning and Progression
The clear career pathway begins at team leadership, advancing to assistant farm manager, and ultimately full farm management roles. Rotations cover essential areas such as grassland management, animal health, youngstock rearing, calving, breeding, financial planning, compliance, and people management. Participants engage in workshops on technical expertise and leadership development, supported by expert mentors, performance evaluations, and continual learning resources.
Partnership and Career Prospects
Reflecting the company’s partnership ethos, participants are viewed as future partners rather than just employees. Those displaying drive, capability, and values alignment are fast-tracked into long-term positions offering shared responsibility and financial benefits.
Community and Networking
The programme also features group events, peer discussion forums, study tours, and interaction with a community of professionals. This environment fosters personal growth, challenges conventional thinking, and exposes participants to best practices nationally and internationally.
Industry Context
Amid rising opportunities and complexities in agriculture, Farming Partners acknowledges that the sector’s future relies on people alongside land, livestock, and capital. This programme represents an investment in future leaders who will drive innovation, sustainability, and resilience.
