Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Management (FM) Managing Agent Manager to oversee operations at a prominent commercial tower in Qatar. This client-facing role involves being the main liaison for all FM issues, delivering strategic guidance and managing successful transitions and mobilizations of FM service providers for sustainable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal contact between the client and the FM consultancy, offering strategic advice and recommendations.
- Develop and sustain a strategic plan to ensure effective Facilities Management service delivery.
- Maintain transparent and accountable communication and reporting structures, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Provide operational oversight to guarantee the safety and full functionality of the facilities at all times.
- Supervise hard and soft FM services provided by appointed vendors, aiming to maximize estate uptime and reduce reactive maintenance requests.
- Update and enforce preventive maintenance programs and asset management plans.
- Address escalated operational challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Lead the handover process from fit-out phase to operational management of the tower.
- Manage the onboarding and mobilization of the incoming FM Service Provider.
- Control budgets and oversee financial reporting related to FM activities.
- Review and authorize FM invoices based on agreed performance criteria.
- Oversee vendor contracts and conduct quality audits on FM service delivery.
- Implement commercial management best practices to optimize and reduce operational expenses.
- Supervise procurement and contract administration functions to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the facility.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the FM Managing Agent team.
- Evaluate team skills and competencies, and identify targeted training opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular performance metrics, KPIs, and dashboards for stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities management, including at least 3 years in a managerial or FM managing agent capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hard and soft FM services, building systems, contract and budget management, and asset management strategies.
- Proven leadership abilities managing teams and complex FM operations, as well as service provider relationships.
- Preferred certification from recognized FM bodies such as IFMA FMP or RICS.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Proficient use of CAFM software, Microsoft Office suite, and FM management/reporting tools.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset to align FM initiatives with client goals.
Additional Information
This opportunity requires the candidate to be physically located in Qatar to ensure on-site presence.
