About the Role
We are looking for experienced hospitality professionals to join our team as Event Duty Managers. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in dynamic, fast-paced live event environments. You will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects, leading front-of-house teams, and ensuring outstanding guest experiences at a variety of premium events.
The Role
As an Event Duty Manager, you will hold complete operational authority for alcohol sales and service, ensuring smooth bar operations and strict adherence to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Your duties will include managing floor and bar staff, and acting as the primary contact to maintain a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with alcohol license conditions, proper display of duty manager signage, and rigorous application of Host Responsibility principles (preventing intoxication, managing minors, and arranging transport/food).
- Provide effective supervision, motivation, and direction to bar staff, floor servers, and security personnel during busy event shifts.
- Actively monitor crowd safety, manage capacity limits, and implement emergency or fire evacuation procedures as needed.
Strict Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a current, valid General Manager's Certificate and an up-to-date Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) is mandatory. Applications without these current certifications will not be considered.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in managing high-volume bars, festivals, weddings, or corporate events is required.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and maintain composure under pressure during event operations.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
