Role overview
This opportunity is for a client project focused on building advanced AI systems that can reason about finance, investments, and public markets. The work involves using your equity research background to help train and assess models that read financial statements, analyze public-company disclosures, and produce investment-related insights.
The assignment is remote, contract-based, and designed for flexible scheduling. Compensation is set at $120 per hour.
Core responsibilities
- Check AI-produced financial analysis for correctness, completeness, and depth of reasoning.
- Judge the quality of investment logic and financial interpretation in model outputs.
- Write clear, detailed feedback that helps improve model performance.
- Read public company disclosures, including SEC filings and financial statements, and pull out meaningful insights.
- Verify AI-generated summaries and confirm they accurately reflect the underlying financial information.
- Create demanding, realistic equity research scenarios for model training and testing.
- Help build structured financial datasets and evaluation standards.
- Work with AI researchers and finance subject matter experts to improve assessment methods and maintain consistent standards for financial reasoning and investment analysis.
Required background
- At least 2 years of professional equity research experience at a recognized financial institution or investment firm.
- Practical experience reviewing SEC filings, including annual reports, quarterly reports, and other public disclosures.
- Strong grasp of financial statement analysis, valuation concepts, equity research methods, public market investing, and corporate financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, written, and communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate complex financial material accurately.
Preferred background
- Experience writing equity research reports or investment recommendations.
- Comfort with financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Knowledge of capital markets, accounting principles, and corporate finance.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, fintech, or AI-assisted investment research.
- Background in reviewing financial content or supporting quality assurance work.
Engagement details
This is a fully remote independent contractor engagement. You can complete the work on your own schedule, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. The initial engagement runs for at least 4 weeks, and may be extended depending on project requirements and performance. Payments are made weekly through supported payment platforms based on approved work completed.
