Role overview
Nova Scotia Health is hiring an Environmental Services Worker for Western Zone at Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a permanent hourly full-time role (100%) within the FMS Environmental Services department and is part of the CUPE Support bargaining unit.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Facility Support Services, the successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and functional setting for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Key duties
The role involves cleaning assigned units, including patient rooms and public areas, along with a range of general housekeeping and floor-care tasks. Work may include mopping, dusting, vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, buffing, scrubbing, refinishing floors, and moving or rearranging furniture. The position also includes changing curtains and drapes as needed.
In addition, the worker is expected to carry out duties in a way that reflects the organization’s mission, vision, values, expected behaviours, leadership philosophy, and commitments to organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnership, and inter-professional collaboration.
Working hours
This is a permanent full-time schedule of 75 hours per biweekly pay period.
Compensation and benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.74 to $21.56. Successful applicants may also qualify for a benefits package that can include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
