Job description

Role overview

This position supports the editorial function by helping to maintain product quality, carrying out checks after content has been created, handling data preparation, and assisting with wider editorial workflows during the development of content.

Key duties

  • Carry out regular review and checking tasks during product production, including proofreading and other quality control activities.
  • Support the creation and assembly of products when instructed.
  • Gather and organise information and data to help build content, and contribute to the content development process where required.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, and reply to stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Help ensure content is delivered on time by contributing to the creation process as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the wider team.

Candidate profile

  • A further education qualification in physical sciences, life sciences, or another relevant subject area.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay accurate while working under pressure.
  • Comfort using computers, searching academic databases, and collecting information.
  • Strong performance both as part of a team and when working independently.
  • Experience with HTML and/or XML would be an advantage.

Pharmaceutical Press is the knowledge division of the Royal College of Pharmacy. It is recognised globally for evidence-based pharmaceutical publications and guidance. Its work supports pharmacists and other healthcare professionals through expert analysis, learning resources, webinars, and news that help improve practice. The organisation independently sources, evaluates, and shares practical medicines information worldwide.

Team environment

The publishing directorate includes several collaborative teams: Journals, Sales and Marketing, Technology, Product, and Editorial. This role sits within the Sales and Marketing team, which works closely with colleagues to build global brand awareness and generate leads.

Working arrangement

The role follows a hybrid working model. You will be able to work from home, with regular in-person collaboration expected at the London office. This is typically around 4 to 8 working days per month.
