Role Summary
The school is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Teacher to join its collaborative team. This position calls for a solid background in early childhood education, familiarity with the IB PYP approach, and a genuine interest in teaching young children.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and lead play-based, inquiry-driven lessons that follow IB Primary Years Programme expectations.
- Maintain a warm, inclusive, and secure classroom where children can explore, create, and develop socially.
- Use Jolly Phonics meaningfully in early literacy teaching to strengthen language development.
- Prepare activities suited to the age group that support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
- Work with fellow teachers on cross-curricular units and wider school learning initiatives.
- Build positive parent partnerships through regular communication, updates on progress, and family engagement activities.
- Record learning evidence, carry out assessments, and keep student academic documentation in line with school procedures.
- Take part in school programmes, workshops, IB PYP training, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Represent and uphold the school’s mission and values through professionalism and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 2–3 years of teaching experience in Early Years within an IB PYP or Cambridge school environment.
- Practical understanding of Jolly Phonics and how to apply it in early literacy teaching.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to design engaging classroom experiences for learners with varied needs.
- Professional, positive manner with strong organisation, time management, and teamwork skills.
- IB PYP workshop certification is an added advantage.
- A commitment to ongoing learning, reflective teaching, and child-centred education.
