About The Role

Join Northcott as a full-time temporary Early Childhood Coordinator on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027, delivering essential support for the NDIS early childhood approach in the local community. This role involves partnering with families, facilitating assessments, and fostering strong community ties to empower children with developmental delays or disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with families to ensure children receive appropriate interventions driven by best practice evidence.
• Conduct functional assessments for children with developmental concerns, making timely referrals to suitable support services.
• Connect families to community programs and mainstream services to enhance their social engagement and access to resources.
• Guide families through NDIS plan reassessments by gathering evidence and assisting with goal setting.
• Support children's choice, control, social participation, and quality of life by utilizing NDIS plans effectively.
• Work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team and maintain flexibility across office, community, and home environments.
• Manage complex family situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Interpret developmental assessments to inform appropriate support measures.

Requirements

• Possess a diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood, Allied Health, Social Work, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to perform evidence-based decision-making and functional assessments.
• Experience partnering with families and navigating the NDIS system.
• Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to work collaboratively and handle complex family dynamics.

The NDIS Partners in the Community Program supports local implementation of the NDIS. Northcott delivers services across multiple regions including Northern NSW and Sydney areas, focusing on early childhood intervention for children aged 0-9 with developmental delays or disabilities.
