Velsera is a remote-first company hiring across the US or UK. Founded in 2023 from the combined vision of Seven Bridges and Pierian, the company’s purpose is to speed up the discovery, development, and delivery of insights that can improve lives. Its software and services support AI-driven multimodal data harmonization and analytics for drug discovery, IVD development and regulatory approval, and clinical NGS interpretation, reporting, and adoption. Velsera also works with the world’s largest multimodal data set.

Role overview

The Director, Marketing will lead the creation and execution of integrated corporate marketing programs in collaboration with Commercial, Sales, and other cross-functional partners. The role is responsible for strengthening the company brand, expanding market visibility, and generating demand for Velsera’s products and services. This leader will also coach the team, build a culture of ownership and innovation, and continuously improve team priorities, resources, and performance.

Key responsibilities

This position owns the development of the marketing function and helps shape how Velsera shows up in the market.

  • Build and scale the marketing sub-function at Velsera.
  • Define and protect the company’s brand identity, core messages, and visual standards across channels and audience touchpoints.
  • Plan and run integrated campaigns across digital, email, social, events, and content channels to support demand generation.
  • Partner with Sales on contact management and lead nurturing.
  • Evaluate leads carefully and move qualified prospects into the Sales pipeline.
  • Strengthen the working relationship between Marketing and Sales so the sales team is better supported.
  • Choose the right trade shows and thought leadership events for Velsera, and lead planning and execution with subject matter experts.
  • Create white papers, case studies, and other thought leadership content with internal experts to support lead generation.
  • Handle additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of marketing experience; experience in healthcare or scientific software is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a marketing or similar commercial team.
  • Hands-on background in B2B lead generation marketing is required.
  • Experience organizing corporate marketing events, trade shows, and industry conferences, including vendor coordination, logistics, and on-site delivery, is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience producing white papers, thought leadership assets, and demand generation content, along with project coordination with subject matter experts, is required.
