We are currently inviting an accomplished and strategic leader to join us as the Director of Group Accounting, a pivotal role focused on directing our financial reporting architecture and establishing robust accounting policies.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Head and supervise the group accounting division to produce consolidated financial statements that comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting requirements.
- Design, execute, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and meet regulatory standards.
- Manage the creation and delivery of precise, timely financial reports—monthly, quarterly, and annually—for senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate efficiently with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and compliance evaluations.
- Deliver strategic financial insights and proposals to the company's executive management to support informed decision-making.
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting regulations and standards, evaluate their implications, and implement necessary organizational changes.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects within the group accounting function to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Mentor, train, and cultivate accounting staff to develop a culture of excellence and high performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required; advanced qualifications such as CPA or ACCA certifications are strongly preferred.
- At least 12 years of progressive work experience in group accounting, including significant leadership responsibilities in comparable roles.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, consolidation processes, and financial regulatory compliance.
- Strong strategic mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, and developing teams to achieve superior performance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities with effective stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex financial reporting environments in fast-paced settings.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
