Role overview
Royal Mail is looking for a Delivery Postie with Driving to support deliveries from the Chelmsford Delivery Office in CM3 5YA, based in South Woodham Ferrers, England, United Kingdom. This is a permanent position offering 37 hours per week. The schedule runs across five days between Monday and Sunday, with working hours from 09:00 to 16:00.
Operational working pattern
Because of service requirements, you will also need to work Sundays every 4 to 6 weeks, with those shifts running from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Chelmsford Delivery Office.
About the role
This position plays a key part in helping Royal Mail continue its nationwide delivery service. The job involves making sure mail and other items reach customers safely and reliably, no matter the weather. It is a physically active role that includes walking for long periods and working outdoors, while helping bring trust and service to local communities.
Key duties
- Deliver all items on your route securely and in line with Royal Mail standards.
- Handle and deliver election materials as required.
- Carry and deliver items such as food products or alcohol where permitted by business rules.
- Provide dependable service to customers across the local area.

Pay and benefits
The role offers a guaranteed hourly rate of £13.68, paid monthly and adjusted to match your working hours. Contract and employment details
This is a permanent contract. For search purposes, roles of 35 to 37 hours per week are treated as full-time, although any role below 37 hours is classified as part-time in the employment contract.
