Role overview
This position leads the full delivery of payment technology programs within a tightly regulated banking setting. The focus is on delivering work in a controlled, dependable way while balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk. You will work with business, technology, and operations stakeholders to deliver payment solutions that are secure, scalable, and compliant.
Work arrangement
This is a hybrid position. You are expected to work from downtown Toronto and/or the client site at least 4 days each week. This arrangement may change at any time.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the project from kickoff through planning, execution, go-live, and post-production support.
- Keep delivery aligned to business goals and organizational priorities.
- Drive outcomes across scope, timelines, budget, quality, and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate work across development, testing, release, and production support teams.
- Serve as the main contact for business and technology stakeholders.
- Maintain clear communication, build trust, and keep leadership informed through status, risk, and governance reporting.
- Set up and run delivery governance practices and decision-making cadences.
- Track team performance, utilization, and compliance with company policies while supporting a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate where needed.
- Handle budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Support audit and regulatory activities, including PCI and SOX-related requirements.
- Look for ways to improve delivery methods, tools, and processes.
- Provide leadership during major releases and critical production events, helping reduce risk and resolve issues quickly.
Qualifications
The employer is looking for a candidate with post-secondary education in technology, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of practical experience. You should bring more than 10 years of experience delivering medium to large technology initiatives, along with at least 5 years in payments technology or financial services. Prior success in regulated enterprise environments is also required.
Methodology and leadership expectations
Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches is expected. The role also calls for excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal abilities, plus a practical, structured approach to risk and problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.
Compensation and other details
The estimated annual pay range for this role is CAD 95,000 to CAD 145,000. Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, location, training, and any relevant licenses or certifications. This opening is currently available.
