Job description

Role overview

We are looking for a driven and team-oriented Business Consultant to help advance transformation and process improvement work. The position is centered on reviewing current operations, finding ways to improve how work gets done, and supporting practical changes that lead to stronger business results. You will work alongside different teams, engage stakeholders, and contribute to solutions that can scale with organizational needs.

Work arrangement

This position follows a hybrid setup. You must be able to work from the downtown Toronto office and/or the client’s office at least two days each week. This requirement may change at any time.

Key responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in business transformation and process optimization efforts, making sure the work supports broader strategic goals.
  • Review existing processes, pinpoint inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities, and propose solutions that are practical and scalable.
  • Create and maintain process documentation such as AS-IS and TO-BE maps, perform root cause analysis, and establish KPIs that can measure progress.
  • Drive or assist with end-to-end process improvement work and help ensure the results are lasting and measurable.
  • Run cross-functional workshops and stakeholder sessions to collect requirements, address business problems, and support sound decisions.
  • Work with stakeholders to design and roll out future-state processes while preparing the business for adoption and readiness.
  • Support change management activities, including communications, training, and engagement planning, to improve implementation success.
  • Provide consulting input such as business case development, transformation roadmaps, and operational excellence recommendations.
  • Partner with technology and delivery teams so that business needs are translated clearly into workable solutions.
  • Track initiative status, risks, and outcomes, and share findings and recommendations that support ongoing improvement.

Required qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of background in business consulting, business analysis, or process improvement.
  • Solid knowledge of process analysis and improvement approaches such as Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM.
  • Strong ability to assess complex business issues, interpret findings, and recommend evidence-based solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with process mapping and documentation tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar platforms.
  • Proven skill in stakeholder engagement and facilitation, including workshops and presentations.
  • Good understanding of change management principles and experience supporting transformation programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across varied teams and organizational levels.
  • Comfort managing several priorities in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
  • Data analysis and reporting experience using tools like Excel and Power BI is an advantage.
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery settings is preferred.

Nice-to-have

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, CBAP, PMP, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or consulting environments.
  • Exposure to digital transformation work and process automation tools.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is CAD 80,000 to CAD 130,000 per year. The final offer will depend on factors such as skills, experience, training, geographic market, and any relevant licenses or certifications. This is an existing vacancy.
