Job description
Role overview
This position combines customer deliveries with in-store support. You will deliver Waitrose products to customers’ homes, representing the brand with friendly, dependable service. - Load the vehicle and organise orders so they are ready for efficient delivery.
- Carry out the required vehicle safety and compliance checks before heading out.
- Act as a positive representative of the Waitrose brand while on the road.
- Provide excellent service to customers and help build a trusting relationship with them.
- Assist the store team with general shop duties whenever needed.
- Contribute to the smooth, effective, and productive running of the shop.
What we are looking for
- A full, valid UK manual B-category driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Strong customer service ability.
- Good time management.
- Physical capability to handle lifting crates and moving cages.
- Confidence working alone, with self-motivation and flexibility.
- Basic IT skills.
- Previous driving experience and familiarity with chilled vehicles would be an advantage.

Important information
Some roles may require pre-employment vetting, which can include a DBS check and, in some cases, financial probity checks. If this applies, details will be provided during recruitment. Candidates are encouraged to complete any vetting paperwork promptly to avoid delays.
Applications may close early if a high number of responses are received, so early submission is recommended. If a disability means you need extra time to complete the application, you should contact the employer as soon as possible.
Flexible working is supported where possible, including options such as compressed hours, job sharing, shorter-hour contracts, or similar arrangements. These can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process.
Work environment
The role is based onsite in Exeter, England, United Kingdom. It involves both delivery driving and in-store supermarket support as part of a friendly team.
