Customer Delivery Driver - Redruth Extra

Role overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you’ll represent Tesco on the road and at customers’ homes, making sure shopping is delivered with care and a friendly approach. The job goes beyond driving alone — it involves providing a helpful, reassuring service and ensuring every order arrives in excellent condition.

This is a practical, active role with a wide variety of tasks and no two shifts likely to be the same. Most of the day is spent working independently, while support is always available from managers and colleagues at base when needed.

Working hours

The availability window for this position is:

• Sunday: 17:00 to 23:00
• Monday: 17:00 to 23:00
• Wednesday: 17:00 to 23:00
• Friday: 17:00 to 23:00

A minimum of 16 hours per week is guaranteed. Roles of 12 hours per week are also available.

Pay details

Hourly pay begins at £14.18. In stores located within the M25, pay increases to £15.45 per hour. Some sites may also include extra payments.

Key duties

• Keep the van, trays, and work area clean, orderly, and well arranged so each customer receives shopping in excellent condition.
• Load the vehicle safely and carry out the required checks so it is fit, dependable, and ready for delivery work.
• Explain substitutions, order changes, or items with short shelf life in a clear and friendly manner, and process refunds when necessary.
• Handle all products carefully and treat every order as though it were your own to protect quality and trust.
• Deliver orders within the assigned time slot and provide a warm, natural doorstep service that leaves customers feeling appreciated.

What you need

• Ability to work well with colleagues and help create a positive team atmosphere.
• A welcoming, polite, and approachable manner with both customers and coworkers.
• Comfort with change and the ability to respond quickly to shifting customer needs while on the road and in-store.
• A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months.
• No more than 3 penalty points on your licence.
