About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco, you will be delivering groceries to customers at their homes with a friendly and helpful attitude. This position involves physical activity, varied tasks, and independent work throughout your shifts, while maintaining close support from your team at the base location.

Working Hours Availability

• Sunday: 16:30 - 23:00
• Wednesday: 07:30 - 19:30
• Friday: 16:30 - 23:00
• Saturday: 16:30 - 23:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure orders arrive in optimal condition.
• Safely load the van and perform necessary vehicle checks to guarantee readiness and roadworthiness.
• Communicate any order modifications, substitutions, or nearing expiry products to customers reassuringly, offering refunds when appropriate for a smooth customer experience.
• Handle all items carefully, treating every delivery with care to preserve quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders within the scheduled time slots, providing courteous service that makes customers feel valued and well cared for.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues to foster a cooperative team environment and enhance customer service.
• Adapt quickly to changes in customer needs and operational demands both on the road and at the store.

Requirements

• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (manual or automatic) for at least one year with no more than three penalty points.
• Strong customer service skills with a warm and welcoming demeanor towards customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and embrace change effectively.

• Starting pay of £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 within the M25 area; some locations may provide additional payments.
