Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Wick, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, delivering their groceries directly to their homes. This role involves more than just driving; it's about providing excellent customer service with a friendly demeanor. The job is physically demanding and offers daily variety, ensuring no two shifts are the same. While you will work independently for most of the day, a supportive team is available at the base for assistance.

Availability Window

The role operates within specific time windows:

• Monday: 07:00 - 21:00
• Wednesday: 19:00 - 23:00
• Thursday: 19:30 - 23:00
• Saturday: 18:00 - 22:00

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders are in perfect condition.
• Safely load the van and conduct all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and prepared for deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any order discrepancies, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds as needed to ensure a positive experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order with the same attention as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Ensure timely delivery within the allocated customer time slots, providing a warm and professional service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued.

Requirements

• Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and enhance customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
• Demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness to evolving customer needs and embrace changes encountered during shifts.
• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
