About the Role
This position is for a motivated Customer Account Manager in Welland, Ontario, Canada. The role combines a love of cars with a strong focus on delivering outstanding service and supporting the growth of the automotive aftermarket business. The company operates under CARQUEST, which is owned by Advance Auto Parts and is recognized as the largest aftermarket auto parts provider in North America.
As part of a collaborative sales environment, you will work to create genuine customer relationships, support business growth, and help strengthen the company’s position in the market.
What You Will Do
- Sell, or oversee the sale of, automotive products to repair shops and other commercial customers.
- Drive personal and store performance by working toward sales targets and service goals.
- Support the rollout of commercial sales programs and help maintain existing ones.
- Partner with General Managers and District leaders to achieve account objectives.
- Share competitive insights, merchandising ideas, and service recommendations with store and business partners.
- Visit assigned accounts, conduct sales calls, and create approaches that best position products, services, and ideas.
- Identify customer needs and ensure account expectations around availability, accuracy, and delivery timing are realistic and met.
- Keep account sales call activity records updated in the database.
- Deliver advanced automotive problem-solving and product guidance to customers.
What You Should Bring
- Strong sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding personal and store-level goals.
- 3 to 5 years of selling experience, along with solid automotive parts knowledge.
- Ability to support customers with advanced automotive troubleshooting and project assistance.
- Resourcefulness in planning sales calls and tailoring customer approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- A team-oriented mindset with a positive, friendly approach.
- Good comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint is an advantage.
- Ability to work with numbers such as discounts, percentages, sales growth, and gross profit percentage.
- Skill in reviewing business reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Flexibility to work varied days, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Willingness to travel overnight on occasion.
- Valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle for business travel, and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with some post-secondary education preferred.
- Bilingual ability may be preferred or required in certain locations.

Physical requirements: The job regularly involves standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing. You may need to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, colour, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment abilities.
Work environment: The role may involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, outdoor weather, extreme cold or heat, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate.
