Overview

The Bank of East Asia (BEA) is seeking a Credit Manager based in Singapore who will play a key role in overseeing credit risk monitoring, reporting, and data analysis to bolster credit control and strategic decision-making processes within the bank.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor credit risks and produce detailed reports and analyses to aid effective credit management and strategy formulation.
  • Ensure credit policies, reporting protocols, and risk management practices comply with Head Office standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and present credit control reports regularly to management as well as the Head Office.
  • Guarantee precision and punctuality in all reporting and data-related tasks.
  • Gather, verify, and integrate credit data from diverse functional units to maintain comprehensive oversight.
  • Maintain adherence to credit policies, operational manuals, and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Work closely with the Credit Assessment Team to support the complete credit lifecycle and protect the quality of the credit portfolio.
  • Assist daily efforts to fortify the bank’s risk culture, improve monitoring systems, and identify underperforming credits with actionable corrective measures.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable data across all reporting platforms and processes.
  • Support audit processes, compliance checks, and regulator submissions through meticulous documentation and reconciliation.
  • Engage in system upgrades and workflow refinements, including creating dashboards and credit performance indicators.
  • Handle secretarial responsibilities for risk meetings, including preparation, facilitation, and minutes recording.
  • Contribute to system projects, special tasks, and requests for data consolidation from Head Office, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Resolve standard issues independently to maintain smooth operations.
  • Leverage foundational automation skills to enhance processes and raise productivity levels.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in banking, demonstrating strong industry knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of banking operations, processes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with data analytics, report generation, and dashboard creation is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal, and basic programming skills is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and organisational skills.
  • Capable of working independently with strong attention to detail and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships professionally.
  • A highly motivated team player who conducts work with professionalism and integrity.
