Job description

Role overview

DHL is looking for a dependable, customer-oriented Courier to join its Stoke Service Centre in a permanent full-time position. This frontline position focuses on delivering and collecting shipments while providing a consistently high standard of service. You will manage your own route, work to strict time-sensitive deadlines, and represent DHL with a professional, energetic, and proactive attitude.

This role suits someone who enjoys working independently, stays composed in a busy environment, and takes satisfaction in delivering a strong customer experience.

Key duties

  • Carry out deliveries and collections according to customer expectations and agreed time-definite service levels.
  • Act as a polished representative of DHL and help maintain a dependable, high-quality customer experience.
  • Develop positive working relationships with customers and look for ways to add value to the business.
  • Keep a constructive, customer-first attitude throughout the working day.
  • Organise and prioritise your route so all deliveries and collections are completed within the required timeframe.
  • Adjust quickly when routes or operational requirements change.
  • Stay efficient under pressure and keep service commitments on track.
  • Work with a strong focus on accuracy, structure, and attention to detail.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and ensure shipments are loaded, handled, and transported safely.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in excellent service, works well on their own, and can stay organised while managing a busy workload. You should be adaptable, able to cope with pressure, and confident building good relationships with both customers and colleagues. DHL also looks for people who demonstrate its CIS behaviours: Can Do, Passion, Speed, and Right First Time.
