Role overview

The Communication and PR Lead will shape and deliver Schneider Electric’s end-to-end communications approach. The position spans internal messaging, external communications, media relations, executive profiling, and crisis response. It also serves as the main communications partner to the Country President and the senior leadership team, helping ensure the company’s story, reputation, and leadership voice are consistent, credible, and aligned across all audiences.

Key responsibilities

Strategy, governance, and budget

  • Create and drive a unified communications plan that fits Schneider Electric’s global standards as well as local business needs.
  • Take full ownership of the annual communications budget, with clear responsibility for cost control, efficiency, and measurable outcomes.
  • Set up the governance model, messaging structure, editorial calendar, and approval workflow for all communication activities.

Agency leadership

  • Direct the wider agency network covering PR, media, content, events, and crisis support.
  • Set work scopes, define KPIs, review performance, and continuously improve partner output.
  • Make sure agency deliverables consistently meet Schneider Electric’s brand, quality, and compliance requirements.

Executive communication

  • Act as a strategic adviser to the Country President and senior leaders on all communication matters.
  • Develop speeches, leadership messages, talking points, interviews, op-eds, and town hall content.
  • Ensure executive communications are coherent, authentic, and effective for both internal and external audiences.

Internal communication

  • Lead internal communication initiatives that improve understanding of strategy, employee engagement, and cultural alignment.
  • Support change, transformation, and growth programs through structured and proactive communication planning.
  • Manage internal channels and leadership cascade communications to maintain clarity, consistency, and impact.

External communication and media relations

  • Protect and strengthen Schneider Electric’s external reputation and media presence in Saudi Arabia.
  • Lead media strategy through proactive storytelling, thought leadership, and issues handling.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key Saudi media outlets, editors, journalists, and influential commentators.
  • Organize and manage media activities such as press conferences, roundtables, executive interviews, site visits, and major announcements.
  • Align all media activity closely with executive positioning and earned-media goals.

Thought leadership and corporate positioning

  • Position Schneider Electric as a trusted voice in sustainability, energy transition, and digital transformation in Saudi Arabia.
  • Develop thought leadership aligned with national priorities, Vision 2030, and Schneider Electric’s sustainability commitments.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sustainability, and Public Affairs teams to extend reach and strengthen impact.

Crisis and issues communications

  • Own crisis communication planning and execution, serving as the central coordination point during reputational or operational issues.
  • Maintain readiness through playbooks, simulations, and clear escalation procedures.

Measurement and performance

  • Set KPIs for internal and external communications effectiveness and monitor delivery against them.
  • Track media quality, sentiment, share of voice, leadership visibility, and engagement.
  • Use insights to refine strategy, execution, and investment decisions over time.

Experience and qualifications

  • Background in corporate communications, PR, or strategic communications in complex or matrixed organizations.
  • Proven experience handling communications budgets and managing agency partners.
  • Strong media relations track record in Saudi Arabia, with established local contacts and market credibility.
  • Experience advising senior executives and managing high-profile media engagements.
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, industrial, or technology sectors is highly preferred.
  • Excellent writing ability, sound editorial judgment, and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English is required.
