About Watercare
Watercare is entering a major growth and resilience programme, with plans to invest $14 billion across the next 10 years to keep supporting a rapidly growing city in a climate-resilient way. That works out to around $3.8 million invested every day.
About the role
We are looking for a Commissioning Specialist with an industrial electrical background to join a high-performing team. Reporting to the Operations Commissioning Manager, this position provides electrical expertise to help projects move smoothly through commissioning and into successful handover, with a focus on strong outcomes for customers.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to commissioning work so that delivery remains consistent, business risks are reduced, and solutions are implemented effectively.
- Help improve existing processes and documentation to make commissioning and asset handover more efficient and reliable.
- Collaborate with commissioning, infrastructure, and operational teams to support best-practice delivery and strengthen instrumentation and control capability across Watercare and partner organisations.
- Support entry into service, performance testing, and the transfer of new or upgraded assets to Watercare Operations.
What we are looking for
- A relevant tertiary qualification in instrumentation or a similar field.
- At least 10 years of electrical experience, including some time in a production environment such as operations, maintenance, or projects.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture by offering guidance based on your experience and expertise.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with good interpersonal ability.
- A genuine interest in expanding knowledge of new technologies.
What’s on offer
- A competitive salary package.
- Training and development opportunities.
- Life and income protection insurance.
- Generous parental leave support.
- Employee discounts with a range of major retailers.
