Role overview
This is a senior commercial leadership opportunity with a partner organization. The position is based in Portugal and supports a business operating across the EMEA region within medical devices regulatory services.
The role centers on defining and delivering the commercial direction for a specialized business unit. It blends strategic planning with direct commercial execution, with the aim of increasing revenue, deepening client and stakeholder partnerships, and supporting expansion across multiple markets. You will also guide and grow commercial teams, align activity with regional and global priorities, and strengthen operational performance through better forecasting, tracking, and continuous improvement.
Key accountabilities
- Set and implement the commercial plan for the medical devices regulatory services business across EMEA, keeping growth and profitability objectives in view.
- Support revenue growth, market penetration, and sales outcomes through structured planning, execution, and ongoing performance review.
- Develop and sustain trusted relationships with major customers, industry stakeholders, regulators, and strategic partners.
- Spot and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and commercial projects that contribute to long-term expansion.
- Lead, coach, and strengthen regional commercial teams while building engagement, capability, and future leadership depth.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and business-planning processes, with close attention to KPI governance and performance management.
- Work in close coordination with global and regional teams to deliver smooth execution and a strong customer experience.
- Improve commercial operations through process refinement, efficiency gains, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership, preferably in medical devices, regulatory services, or quality assurance.
- A demonstrated history of growing revenue, meeting commercial goals, and running successful business operations.
- Strong leadership background with experience managing and developing high-performing teams across international markets.
- Well-developed commercial judgment, strategic thinking, and a customer-focused approach.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning in a complex multi-market setting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives.
- Good understanding of regulated industries such as medical devices or healthcare-related services.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is considered an advantage.
