Role overview

In this Singapore-based role, you will be part of Neste’s Bulk Cargo Operations team, helping coordinate the execution of commercial contracts and ensuring cargo movements are delivered smoothly from deal completion through to fulfillment of contractual obligations.
The position focuses on day-to-day planning, coordination, and optimization of bulk cargo shipments, including marine tanker vessels and barges. You will work across commercial and operational workflows, balancing execution quality, compliance, and efficiency while contributing to a strong customer and supplier experience.
What you will do
- Oversee the daily management of individual cargo shipments and vessel operations to ensure efficient and accurate execution.
- Coordinate supply and delivery/loading schedules with internal and external parties, including shipment nominations, date ranges, and delivery targets.
- Appoint inspection firms for cargo quality and quantity checks and make sure results remain consistent.
- Handle operations at external storage sites, including inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate and timely records for all executed contracts and transactions.
- Work closely with teams across operations, commercial supply and sales, chartering, shipping support, invoicing, claims, demurrage, legal, and other relevant functions.
- Remain available for urgent operational matters outside normal working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Carry out work with precision and professionalism to reduce process deviations and avoid unnecessary costs.
- Follow Neste’s Code of Conduct and all applicable company policies at all times.
What the role requires
- A strong academic foundation with a numeracy-focused background, ideally a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as business or technology.
- Candidates without the stated academic qualification may still be considered if they have extensive operations experience in a relevant industry.
- 3–5 years of experience in international commodity operations involving bulk liquid oil products, agricultural vegetable oils, fats, and/or renewable fuel cargo logistics.
- Practical knowledge of marine tanker transportation, inventory management, and cargo quality assurance.
- Understanding of vessel operations, including loading and discharge, time charters, voyage charters, and ship operations.
- Hands-on familiarity with bulk liquid cargo workflows such as cargo documents, bills of lading, letters of credit, basic demurrage calculations, customs duties, cargo insurance, vessel clearance, voyage orders, and ship-to-ship operations.
- Experience managing cargo quantity and quality controls, including inspections and storage coordination.
- ERP system knowledge, such as SAP or Allegro.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; local language ability is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and a performance-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Adaptability, resilience, and comfort operating in a changing, high-pressure environment.
