Job purpose
The Strategic Purchaser will handle sourcing work, coordinate supplier relationships, and make sure purchasing activities for materials and services are aligned with business objectives, internal standards, and procurement guidelines.
Key accountabilities
- Carry out sourcing activities and procurement tasks efficiently and in line with business requirements, internal policies, regulatory expectations, and sourcing plans.
- Support supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management while building productive supplier relationships that help secure favorable terms, meet specifications, and maintain strong supplier performance.
- Take part in evaluating supplier performance and resolving issues related to quality or delivery.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure sourcing actions support wider business goals.
- Help improve sourcing methods and practices, with attention to sustainability and ethical purchasing.
- Keep supplier and procurement records accurate and up to date for analysis and reporting.
- Use data and analytics to guide sourcing choices, improve supply chain outcomes, and track supplier performance trends for opportunities to improve.
