Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is for a Clinical Research Associate II to join a well-established global CRO supporting studies across Australia. The position offers remote working with required on-site visits, and sits within a smaller ANZ team that provides closer collaboration, visibility, and room to grow.
About the organisation
The employer is a global contract research organisation working with pharma and biotech sponsors across a wide range of therapeutic areas. Although it operates globally, the Australian team is described as lean and tightly connected, giving team members direct access to leadership, study partners, and development support.
Study exposure
The portfolio includes Phase I through Phase IV research programs across oncology, neuroscience, immunology, infectious diseases, vaccines, rare diseases, and general medicine. This role is suited to someone who wants variety across both oncology and non-oncology studies rather than being limited to a single therapeutic niche.
Key responsibilities
You will carry out routine site monitoring activities, including site selection, study initiation, ongoing monitoring, and close-out. The role also involves maintaining strong working relationships with investigators and site personnel, while ensuring studies are conducted in line with protocol, SOPs, GCP, and applicable local regulations. You will also contribute timely field insights to global project teams so they can support delivery, quality, and study timelines.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced CRA II with at least 18 months of independent monitoring experience. You should be comfortable handling multiple protocols and therapeutic areas, organising your own workload, and working collaboratively within a supportive and practical team culture. Full working rights in Australia and the ability to travel for site visits are essential.
Salary and benefits
The role offers an annual salary of AUD 105,000 to AUD 125,000, inclusive of car allowance, plus superannuation. The position also comes with genuine flexibility, trust-based working, realistic travel expectations, and a strong focus on quality, ethics, and patient-centred decision-making.
Growth and culture
This role offers a pathway into more senior positions such as Senior CRA, Lead CRA, or Project Manager, supported by structured training and approachable management. It is designed for someone who values direct impact, professional development, and a collaborative environment where individual strengths are recognised.
