Cleaning Operative

Role overview

Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing Ireland is looking for a Cleaning Operative to support its Dungarvan site in County Waterford. This position focuses on keeping the premises, building, canteen spaces, laboratory glassware, and pharmaceutical microbiology areas clean, orderly, and compliant with the organisation’s standards for efficiency, quality, and accuracy.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time onsite position with a 39-hour workweek. Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:45pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 9:30am to 6:00pm on Wednesday. There may be a requirement to work one weekend per month.

Key duties

• Maintain the building to an acceptable housekeeping standard in line with internal procedures.
• Manage waste disposal in the skip efficiently, including flattening boxes before placing them in the skip to save space.
• Handle chemical waste disposal correctly and safely.
• Carry out floor stripping and resealing when needed.
• Sanitise pharmaceutical microbiology laboratories and complete the relevant logbooks.
• Wash all glassware according to the company’s procedures.
• Support general cleaning across the site, including outside areas and other dirt-related issues, and provide housekeeping cover during the day when evening staff are unavailable.
• Work collaboratively with the team and cover for colleagues when required.
• Keep all canteen areas clean and tidy at all times.

Skills and qualifications

Applicants should ideally have experience in industrial cleaning within a GMP setting, although this is not essential. Strong teamwork skills and clear communication, both internally and externally, are important for success in the role.
