About The Role

This position involves providing a cleaning service at Gwenfo Primary School. The role is for 12.5 hours per week, operating 38 weeks a year during term-time, Monday to Friday. Additionally, there are 11 hours per week for recess cleaning over 5 weeks. The pay rate is Grade 1, SCP 3, at £13.45 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering an effective cleaning service to clients.
  • Provide cover for other cleaning staff during absences such as holidays, sickness, or staff shortages.
  • Support the chargehand/Site Supervisor with the training of new cleaning staff when required.
  • Perform all necessary cleaning tasks, including carpet and steam cleaning, site-specific cleaning, builders' cleans, recess cleaning, and other specialized cleaning duties beyond the standard site specifications.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience in the cleaning industry or a related field.
  • A foundational understanding of various cleaning tasks essential for an efficient and effective premises cleaning service.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with the public and client representatives.
  • The physical capability to perform manual and active laboring duties.
  • The ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and demonstrate initiative.
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours as needed.
  • The capacity to travel throughout the Vale or between different locations as required.
