Company Overview

Al Watania Agriculture Company is a prominent agribusiness group in the GCC, with core activities spanning food production, olive oil manufacturing, and large-scale tomato processing. For more than 30 years, the company has been delivering fresh, wholesome, and organic food products throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, backed by investments of more than USD 300 million.

Based in Riyadh, the business runs significant agricultural operations in the Al Jouf region, along with farms in Qassim and Wadi Dawasir. It is recognized as the largest certified organic company in the Middle East and holds credentials including Ecocert, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, BIOL, and Ceres. Its wide showroom presence across the Kingdom helps make certified organic products easily accessible to customers.

Role Summary

The Chief Operating Officer will work in a full-time remote capacity and will be accountable for leading day-to-day operations across the company’s business units. The role is focused on improving efficiency, maintaining quality, and enabling long-term growth.

This executive will direct the rollout of operational strategy, ensure alignment between production, supply chain, and commercial functions, and champion process and systems improvement. In partnership with the CEO and senior leadership, the COO will contribute to business planning, target setting, and resource allocation while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory obligations.

The position also includes leading senior operations managers, strengthening organizational capability, and building a workplace culture centered on accountability, transparency, and innovation. Additional responsibilities include tracking performance measures, managing operational exposure, and supporting strategic programs, partnerships, and expansion efforts.

Qualifications

Applicants should bring strong capability in operations leadership and business planning, particularly in complex multi-site environments. A solid background in finance and budgeting is important, including forecasting, cost management, and efficient use of resources.

Advanced analytical ability is needed to interpret data, define key performance indicators, and guide decisions using evidence. The role also requires substantial executive-level leadership experience, covering team leadership, stakeholder management, and change leadership.

Experience in agribusiness, food manufacturing, or similar industries is an advantage. Candidates should be comfortable operating in a remote executive role while coordinating teams and locations spread across different sites.

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Finance, or a related discipline is required, and an MBA or similar advanced qualification is preferred. Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills are essential, along with a clear commitment to ethical, inclusive, and sustainable business practices.
