Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily security operations ensuring safety and security of client populations and staff.
• Ensure all security activities comply with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage staff through hiring, performance evaluation, training, development, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct on-the-job safety training for security personnel.
• Develop and update security policies, obtaining necessary management approvals.
• Plan and coordinate emergency responses, including searches for escaped offenders and riot control procedures.
• Participate actively in committees related to training, budgeting, and policy review.
• Contribute to strategic planning and community coordination efforts as required.
• Engage directly with shifts to address operational concerns periodically.
• Be available 24/7 to respond to significant or unusual incidents.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or business administration preferred.
• Minimum five years progressive experience in correctional or detention environments with at least two years in a managerial role related to supervision, custody, classification, and treatment of adult inmates.
• Strong leadership skills including planning, delegation, and personnel management.
• Consistent and fair treatment of staff and inmates in accordance with institutional policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of delivering clear instructions and composing concise reports.
• In-depth knowledge of correctional laws, program objectives, facility management, and related legal requirements demonstrated through work, education, and research.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old.
• Must be a United States citizen.
