About the Role
This full-time Chef de Partie position sits within Cafe the Pantry at Park Hyatt Auckland. The role focuses on preparing and plating high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. You will support service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and play an important part in delivering a memorable dining experience within the front-of-house kitchen environment.
Key Duties
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in preparing and presenting premium-quality dishes.
- Run your section in a clean, organised, efficient, and safe manner.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to maintain smooth service and exceed guest expectations.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at every stage of preparation and service.
- Help refine menu items and recipes through practical input and creativity.
- Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ordering for your section.
- Guide and coach junior kitchen team members through hands-on training.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of experience in a Chef de Partie role or a comparable position in an upscale restaurant or hotel kitchen. You should enjoy preparing innovative, well-presented, and flavourful food, and be comfortable staying focused in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, teamwork, a guest-first mindset, and a positive attitude are all important. The role also requires availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, along with legal permission to work in New Zealand.
