About the Role

Adecco is seeking a Category Management Analyst to join a leading global consumer goods company’s Trade Marketing team based in North York, Toronto. This position focuses on driving category growth by converting data into actionable insights to support commercial strategies and enhance execution in the marketplace. The role bridges Category Management and Channel Development functions and requires collaboration with Sales and Marketing departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing and ad hoc reporting for a portfolio of top brand categories within the Trade Marketing team.
  • Analyze data from various sources such as NielsenIQ, Numerator, and retailer POS systems to identify growth opportunities, develop recommendations, and improve category outcomes.
  • Track competitor activity, pricing tactics, and promotional impact to inform category and pricing strategies.
  • Assist in recognizing and cultivating category growth areas related to distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP).
  • Work alongside Category Managers to quantify untapped opportunities and suggest actions to boost category performance.
  • Create, automate, and sustain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other tools to monitor performance.
  • Evaluate channel business results to back data-driven decisions and refine analytics processes for better efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Category and Channel Development Managers to craft impactful presentations and business reviews for internal and external partners.
  • Support the creation of customer-facing category selling materials grounded in business and market data.
  • Develop and maintain sales support documents including innovation and core product sell sheets.
  • Handle coordination of product samples and materials to assist customer meetings and sales efforts.
  • Ensure sales teams have access to current and accurate category, product, and innovation resources.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, or similar field preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Sales Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong analytical aptitude to convert complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources like NielsenIQ, Numerator, or retailer POS is advantageous.
  • Experience in business performance analysis and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Self-driven with the capacity to work independently and in teams within a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Additional Information

  • Position Location: North York, Ontario, Canada.
  • Job Type: Initially a 6-month contract with potential for extension.
  • Hourly Pay Rate: 37 Canadian dollars per hour.
