About the Role

This position sits within the Engineering & Facilities function at a hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a full-time, non-management role based on site. The role supports daily maintenance, guest request handling, and general upkeep across rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

What You’ll Do

• Handle guest repair requests promptly and work with guests or customers to resolve maintenance concerns.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment visually, and transport equipment such as tools and radios as needed.
• Identify and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for equipment and the building when required.
• Maintain maintenance stock, and request parts and supplies when inventory runs low.
• Share daily activity updates and any issues with other shifts using approved communication methods.
• Apply working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
• Complete surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, light-bulb and A/C filter replacements, and fully clean the work area afterward.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing fixtures such as toilets and drains, electrical parts including lamps, extension cords, switches, outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program televisions and carry out general housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before starting maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping items, including sprinkler systems.
• Use computers for basic tasks such as entering air-handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.

• Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries without delay.
• Complete required safety training and certifications, and store flammable materials correctly.
• Keep uniforms and personal appearance neat and professional.
• Protect confidential information and company property.
• Greet guests according to service standards, respond to their needs, assist guests with disabilities, and show appreciation.
• Work respectfully with teammates, support shared goals, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Meet quality standards and complete any other reasonable duties assigned.

Preferred Background

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior experience in general maintenance, including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting, is preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is an advantage.
• No previous supervisory experience is required.

Required Qualification

• A valid driver’s license is required.
