Job description

Role Overview

In this position, you will help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging camp environment for employees. The role combines supervision, daily coordination, staff support, and operational oversight to ensure the camp runs smoothly and people feel supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the camp setup and the support team assigned to the site.
  • Keep an eye on employee conduct and step in promptly when issues arise to maintain a healthy atmosphere.
  • Offer day-to-day support and direction to employees so the camp culture remains positive and respectful.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee regular activities as well as special events for employees.
  • Make sure all planned programs are safe, engaging, and suitable for the intended group.
  • Apply camp rules and procedures while ensuring alignment with Ministry requirements.
  • Carry out routine safety inspections of the camp area and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation for incidents, attendance, and related records.
  • Act as the main contact for HR Operations and share concerns, updates, and issue resolutions.
  • Coordinate closely with HR Operations and the Accommodation Supervisor.
  • Prepare and circulate schedules, newsletters, and other communication materials.
  • Support camp setup and dismantling activities, including equipment handling.
  • Track supplies and ensure camp inventory stays adequately stocked.
  • Handle administrative work such as employee check-ins, check-outs, evaluations, and reports.
  • Arrange rooms and bedding for incoming employees.
  • Work with Operations to organize transport pick-up and drop-off for new arrivals.

Candidate Profile

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, recreation, physical education, social work, environmental science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Previous exposure to camp operations, event coordination, outdoor programs, or youth-focused activities is preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a similar environment will be an added advantage.
  • Strong ability to lead teams, manage activities, and oversee operations efficiently.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and quick decision-making skills, especially in urgent situations.
  • Excellent organizational ability for scheduling, resource handling, and event planning.
  • Good interpersonal skills for building cooperative working relationships.
  • Capability to resolve conflicts among employees or staff in a professional manner.
  • Flexibility and resilience when working in changing or unpredictable conditions.
  • Basic budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people from different backgrounds and functions.
