Job description
Role overview
Seating Solutions is part of InProduction, a major provider of temporary seating, staging, structures, and scenic production for events across the United States. The team brings together multiple production and seating businesses to support large-scale live events, with people, safety, and quality at the center of the operation.
This opening is for an early-career CAD detailer who can turn concepts, sketches, and existing drawings into precise working drawings for sales teams, customers, building officials, and field technicians. The company is looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career and grow alongside a fast-expanding business in the live events industry.
What you will do
- Create clean and accurate 2D drafting packages in VectorWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Focus drawings on scenic flats, steps, decks, deck plugs, pipe-and-base setups, drape line plots, and basic stage plans.
- Convert sketches, notes, and source drawings into usable project documents for project managers and production designers.
- Build simple 3D models of scenic pieces from 2D files to help with coordination and visualization.
- Use company drafting standards and templates so all drawings stay consistent.
- Support fabrication and on-site installation by preparing complete drawing sets.
- Work with fabrication teams to keep construction details clear and accurate.
- Revise drawings from redlines and field feedback.
- Join internal production meetings and, from time to time, visit sites for drawing verification.
- Keep digital files, version histories, and drawing logs organized.
Experience and education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree, technical certificate, or formal CAD training is preferred. Experience or internship exposure in live events, scenic fabrication, or theatrical production is considered an advantage.
Required skills
- Strong 2D drafting ability in VectorWorks and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of SketchUp for basic scenic visualization
- Understanding of scenic build components and stage layouts
- Careful attention to detail and instruction-following
- Ability to apply shop standards to drawing packages

- Comfort working with changing priorities in a team setting
- Basic Microsoft Office and file-sharing skills
Additional requirements
- The selected candidate must clear a background check and drug test.
- A willingness to learn through coaching and training is essential.
- Some overtime and occasional site visits may be part of the job.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus, but it is not mandatory.
Compensation and benefits
The pay range is $22 to $28 per hour, depending on experience.
Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; education assistance; paid vacation; a floating holiday; and paid holidays.
