About the Role
Tommy Bahama is seeking a Busser/Food Runner in Waimea, Hawaii. In this full-time, on-site restaurant role, you’ll help deliver a polished guest experience by supporting the service team, keeping the dining area running smoothly, and contributing to the brand’s welcoming, island-inspired atmosphere.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome guests warmly and help create a relaxed, hospitality-driven environment.
- Assist servers by promptly delivering food to tables.
- Clear, reset, and maintain tables in line with the company’s service standards.
- Keep the work area clean and sanitary for guests and team members.
- Step in with other duties as needed to support restaurant operations.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in serving or a similar role in a full-service restaurant.
- Current food handler certification and alcohol service certification, where required by applicable law.
- Working understanding of food, beverage, and hospitality service.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to take on additional business-support tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or move up to around 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Standing for the full length of a shift.
- Comfort working with tools and equipment such as hand carts, blenders, knives, slicers, wine keys, and other items listed in training materials.
- Work schedules are set according to business requirements.
Compensation
Pay is estimated at $15.00 per hour at a minimum, or the local minimum wage if that is higher, up to $17.00 per hour, plus tips. The final rate may vary based on experience, knowledge, skills, work location, and budget availability.
